Still going strong with the Twitter Challenge (you can read about my results as of week 3 here), and still reading a lot of blogs. So, once again, I will share my 3 favorite reads of the week right here.
A great post talking about prospects, building a list, and the importance of segmenting that list. Brooke goes into detail about why it is important to segment a list. For instance, a segmented list has an open rate that is almost 15% higher, almost 60% more clicks, and 7.5% less unsubscribes than a non-segmented list. She also describes several different ways that you can easily segment your list.

I work with a lot of small business owners doing search engine optimization and web design, and Sharni really hits the nail on the head. She describes what is necessary for a business website and why. She also talks about social media marketing for a small business and how to do it right.

A great list of SEO tips that a lot of people will tell you that you have to do, that you really shouldn’t. For each tip, DeepCrawl talks about what you shouldn’t do, and what you should do instead (or why you shouldn’t do it). For instance – stop stuffing the exact keyword into your articles. That hasn’t worked in years. Instead, grab a thesaurus and add different versions of the keyword.
